Toyota Progres The perfect car for a car 50 years of progress

There is a lot to write home about Jubilee Year for this of ours with regard to both the good and the bad. fifty years is no mean and most of us would want to that over that we have progressed.  And taking of and coincidentally so, Progres (pronounced as is the latest buzz word in the market in this beautiful year old land. Perhaps one in four cars that past you on that bumpy of yours is a Toyota Progress.

Toyota Progress who/what? You are me? You probably don’t live or are poor at reading car names off backside as they drive No crime; this is the Toyota You know the Mercedes Benz eyes’? Now the progress is that with similar eyes-of to the not-so observant observer.

nicely shaped sedan Toyota, with double eyes, a sleek body and finishing all comparable to the craftsmanship of made the Mercedes; and here I am about the E-class.

I have not met a Progres or one so badly maintained the bumpers falling off. those that have prey to our expected road are drop-dead graceful; their number plates not older the UAQ series proudly hanging on. A few are And most are in the grey and black making them even

Make no mistake; this car is not as on the global auto market as it is in The first Progres off the production was 1998; with an inline of 2.5L or 3.0L Since 2001 Toyota put in Progres Injection (D4) engines (2.5L) and 2JZ-FSE (3.0L).

if you had seen a car, in 1998 6 airbags, voice activated GPS full wood and leather gilt or silver analogue and full soft touch interior, dual zone air and automatic head lights and No wonder we still think car a Mercedes; at least a Toyota [odd but apt name, I must

In 1998 the Progres had an equipment that not only surpassed sedans of similar exterior but could match much cars such as the BMW 5 series of the era and the E Class. Interior size was generous, offering the best in its class.

“Owa Benzi kukobo,” brags a certain whom we will not name. translated the Hajji meant behind the wheel of his 1998 he feels he has a better ride on the than anyone in a Mercedes. he was not talking about the AMG type!

Shem who rides one of those popular Mercedes types, the scoffs at this talk of Mercedes to the Progres, even any Japanese sedan. “Boss, a car is a German car,” he says the accompanying sneer typical of German car fanatics. “Get the thing, not a look alike. No how physically they resemble, you easily tell the boy from the man you get the engines running, gear and gas pedal pushed down,” he before admitting that the Progres looks sleek to the eye and on the road.

One can’t compare the strength to say that of the Mercedes E of the 124 series, the Progres body is of more malleable steel and thus not withstand as much involved in a crush. But these two are in speed, with the Progress to hit highs of 200kmh and remain on the road; but again, you have to be of which road.

The sad bit about this car is that its was discontinued in Japan in June Reasons abound, but none so from us here enjoying our ride as a sign of and yes, our personal progress! It’s the new symbol, sedan costing 20 million shillings and in such numbers on our streets, it is surely a of progress-if not, what is? your ride!
