One of ammonia costs just 20 and the 30 litres that the Toyota tank can hold are enough to around 180 km. At engine speeds up to rpm, the car can be fuelled on ammonia then switching to direct and petrol at higher engine Consequently, for city driving the car can completely run on ammonia. Due to the high output of ammonia the original and performance potential of the GT 86 is maintained.

The NH3 design has been developed by International, a company that for than 40 years has been on the use of alternative energy sources. The uses a special pressure called RI21JE, and a special unit to make sure all safety and reliability requirements the use of ammonia are met. This completely eliminates fine particle emissions and significantly CO2 emissions. The trials completed by International as part of the Savia analysed every aspect to compliance with current and pollution standards, testing the of the solutions adopted on different over extended periods.

The Eco Explorer may be the most widely vehicle to come out of the SAVIA a public/private initiative in Italy, but interesting project under is a range-extender for electric hybrid using ammonia for its carbon-free fuel.

The range-extender electric project uses a garbage as its development vehicle (the Gasolone 35, diesel model), and for they also developed a system: plug-and-play sensor that monitor levels of and other emissions around the area, and at the fuel tank, reactor, and tail pipe.

VERDICT: As a speculative look the future of fuels, the Eco Explorer is an experiment. But it works better as a of what a more powerful GT 86 be like. The performance upgrades and wide tyres haven’t the superbly balanced chassis, and though the stiffer ride suit everybody, this is an utterly fantastic car to drive.
