Kuala Lumpur International Show (KLIMS) 2010; FT-HS Concept Car

The eco-themed Lumpur International Motor 2010 (KLIMS) held at the World Trade Centre was a bag in terms of variety and entertainment Much to the disappointment of some car some well-known marquees absent, namely the likes of Audi, Renault, Volvo, to name a few. For the makes did participate, however, they some very interesting cars to give attendees a of thefuture of automobiles. There interesting concepts from Kia, Mitsubishi, Honda, and Perodua. One of the crowd pleasers, and my favorite of the show, was the uber hybrid sports concept Toyota – the FT-HS.

The FT-HS stands for Future Hybrid Sport. This is a which first appeared at the North American International Show. This 2+2 front rear driven sports features a potent hybrid paired with sports car The car boasts a V6 3.5L engine Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy which targets to output It’s projected to hit 0-100km/h in 4

It’s interesting to know Toyota has not built a proper car since the demise of the venerable in 1997. The development of the FT-HS is believed to be the basis of a V6-powered successor. Since the FT-HS Toyota partnering Toyota SARD, has exhibited the prowess of the powertrain in its Super GT HV-R race car. The Denso Supra HV-R became the hybrid race car in history to win a when Toyota Team took first place in the 24-hour, a Super Taikyu on July 16, 2007.

If this is how the future of vehicles like, then the future is going to be sexy and inspiring. The of the FT-HS exudes sleekness and It’s freeform yet blends hard-edged corners to give it its stance. The carbon-kevlar roof is unique – the roof retracts so the roof panel and back pivot fluidly to stow in the seat space. Neat. The car has a unique floating “C” pillar, eliminates the “B” pillar.

The interior is very driver-oriented a lean skeletal look, materials such as titanium and fiber. The cockpit includes a instrument panel structure and driver pod. An integrated panel surrounds the driver, an enclosed pod effect. The seating four but converts to a two-seater the roof retracts. Who cares the rear passenger space, The hub-less steering incorporates shifters.

It’s all very futuristic and but ultimately also functional and Is this Toyota’s answer to a car of the future? I hope, for mankind’s it’s a yes.
