2000 Sirion (Toyota engine issues

Submitted by on Sun, 24/03/2013 —

Hi All. Apologies in advance for the of text!

I have been through old posts to see if anything the issues I am having (with my car) but nothing definitive so if any of the experts here can shed light??

The engine is: M100A EJ-VE, it has the 4 speed automatic

The car started cutting out regularly when rolling to a stop at etc. Then it suddenly and I would describe it as though it is in kind of limp mode a huge flat spot can’t take off on any sort of in the power when taking off but normally at speed. I am worried it may be more serious than and I will outline the troubleshooting has been done so far.

it first had the major issue I was on business so it was taken to a mechanic for whatever reason thought it was the valve timing solenoid he cleaned out then he decided it was the MAP I have since put the MAP sensor on a bench at work and plotted the output with vacuum, it a dead linear output 3.6V at atmospheric down to under 1.3V at -80 kPa(gauge). I this seems

functional?

Once I got the car home to my garage I done the following:

Jumped the ports on the OBD connector and found the codes: 31, 51, 73, 74, 75.

Compression test full open, EFI fuse all spark plugs out) 90 PSI on cylinder. This was of concern to me as the manual I paid for (for the lists the minimum as 1579 kPa PSI). However I have not that the gauge does not read low. Can anyone a typical normal compression for these engines?

Spark plugs appeared worn so I replaced them genuine NGK.

I have down the throttle body, was some oil and dust residue (esp around the idle valve) but no more than I seen on almost every car I have worked on. I reassembled it and no in running.

Battery voltage is and when the car is running is up around charging.

I hooked up a timing light and the other test port on the OBD was jumped (as per the manual) I could see the stable in the centre of the indicator at the pulley.

Can anyone suggest the issue is likely to be or narrow it for me? I am leaning toward the idle control (as I was when it first had the issue).
