Cressida Wagon 6M 5 Speed — LSD (Build)

I be working on getting my Cressida out of the garage so that I can make progress on the convertible.

I started post on toyotacressida.net, but I thought I would dupe it over so that you guys know I have still been

My MX72 (Cressida Wagon) has sitting without an engine for a year now. I was trying to if I was going to go with a 7MGTE or Well, I have decided to put the 6M that I’m building in it I will eventually install a For the sake of time and money, I just do the 5 Speed / 6M Hybrid for

This is what I started

The head gasket popped and I the engine and trans. The trans in now in my DD.

Two of the pistons were missing

While the engine and trans out, I had a MKI Supra rear end I could have done it It was a straight bolt in.

LSD, gears, Custom Length T3 Panhard Rod (Wish it was blue )

Now working on this. It is a 7MGE that has been honed bore) and decked, with new plugs, oil pump drive bearing.

It’s was a little

Cleaned it up with a drill and brush attachments, small brushes and sand paper. a lot of the dust from the rust into the fresh surfaces of the and cylinder walls. The machine said Scotch Brite clean it up. Tested a small and it worked great.

I painted over the freeze but I put spare bolts in the holes the bolts would go. While the was still wet, the tape and were removed. I let it dry for 7 days. way between I heated the block up a heat gun to cure the primer a

It sits now with a coat of

I heated the paint a block up a bit adding a second coat. I notice that the color is Blue until today. That’s OK. It’s not that bad Besides, it really seams a waste to paint the block you can barely see it once everything is

I will attack installing the and rods and bearings next. I do not how to use a micrometer so I will use plastigage to the clearances.

Balanced, grinded and polished and new bearings

The infamous W9 crank. I 6M.

Stock (standard 83mm) High Compression 5M Pistons, 7M Rods — Everything all up. I know I should go with the 5M Low Compression pistons, but I was initially on putting this engine in my DD and in NA. So, I had the High Compression piston by the machine shop.

Oh yeah. in to the plastigage, I need to pick up a ring compressor and piston pliers. Any suggestions?
