(Home ) Rain water in Toyota carina p reg hatchback

the car has been parked up for a couple of during heavy rain, I water pooling in the rear hand side passemger I have also found the left hand passenger wet.

The car is parked on level in front of my house (not a road) the lowest pont to the rear right hand

The window and door are tightly and I can’t see how its getting in.

The boot dry. I can’t see water on the door. Does anyone where the rear washer runs? I have not yet started the trim and carpets up. I have the maual but it doesn’t help.

As the water has appeared after the car has unused for a couple of weeks I think it’s being up from underneath. It might be when the car was in daily use, the and ventilation dried out the carpet, and I aware of the problem.

I don’t if this is going to be of any help. I had a citroen BX a while ago and had the same with water ingress. many hours of searching, I replaced the rubber door (which didn’t work, I that the water was going the door window into the and after a short while past the door trim and so the car. Obviously the door were blocked therefore the problem.

Try it, I think you will be surprised.

I need to get the trim off my P reg Carina E to fix a water

However. I haven’t yet managed to get the winder off so I can remove the door and fix the prob. Haynes says out the retaining spring with a bit of welding rod (which I haven’t but I can’t see this spring. Can describe how to get this winder off?

I’ve got the clip our now and off the door trim. The cause to be that there are two pieces of sheet inside the door, one of was probably supposed to be tucked the door shell, so that penetrating the window would run it and fall to the bottom of the door the shell, and the other is in contact the door trim.

The inner one had come outside the cavity, possibly when a was repaired, so that water run down it, then down the sheet, then fall out of the of the door trim and thence its way down onto the carpet.

I poked the shell polythene into the door shell, may it with some tape, and refitting the trim will on the next rainy day to see if the prob is

Alas, not yet cured. It looks as if the polythene sheet is stuck to the using a thick bead of sealant, which also to direct the flow of any water to a hole on the inner diir so that it gets back the shell and runs out of the bottom of the

My sealant bead has become so it no longer dams the flow of I suppose I will have to put a new in, and perhaps even cut a new polythene I am thinking of using a Gutter gun, looks to be some of synthetic mastic and will stand up to wet better than seal.

The gap at the bottom of the window surprisingly wide, about 2mm to Shouldn’t there be a rubber in contact with the glass?

Anyone else had to do a similar
