92 Camry Sedan — and power source for radio


this is my first post. like this is THE toyota hopefully some of you guys can me with a pretty basic which I’m sure not the first person facing it.

been having my 92 camry since early september and quite happy with it. the 2.5 V6 well and it’s a good

So far I’ve been using the fitted toyota radio, but back in 1992, ipod and usb really state of the art. so I got a new unit and tried to fit it in. i’ve doing this with a few VWs and it was never a big deal. sometimes you had to battery and ignition, but that’s it.

so when i started to change the I realized that the plug is ok not a big deal, got an ISO plug and checked on the which wire colors do well none of them i had ground, ignition and power the radio is, but I couldn’t get the new radio then I went to a audio car to check if the new radio works. it the dude over there said, that my built in AMP cause trouble.

so back home, took out the again. unplugged the AMP and well everything …. meaning neither ignition, battery or were working. shortly i figured out that all of it goes the AMP and the AMP directs it to the radio. so since planning to use the new radio and don’t the AMP anyway I might just use from down at the AMP and manually the wires so I can use them up at the head slot. In other words off the plugs at the AMP and connecting respective to fully bypass the AMP.

The only problem is, that the AMP under the passengers seat up to the unit slot only 9 are going.

The AMP uses one wire for speaker (RR, RL, FR, FL) from the and then puts +- for each from the AMP to the speakers. I guess how an AMP works. So the AMP has 4 out of 9 wires taken and can the other 5 for ground, ignition, power, amp control etc.

The new radio needs +- for each so 8 wires.

out of 9 is only one left.

I use this for ignition and get battery and ground from somewhere Ground should be fairly

Any suggestions where to get battery in the head unit area besides the ciggi lighter.

An way to also get ignition power somewhere around the head slot?

The last thing I want to do is in 2 or 3 more wires from the unit space down to the seat

Also, from the diagrams i found on the internet, the wiring from and to the AMP is going close to the head unit any ideas if it’s a good to get the required cables from

Even though I ll use soldering and shrinking tubes, some are quite tight and some are already quite short. really appreciate if somebody has a solution
