i’m an aussie living in and i thought i’d share info about the car i’ve had for the year and a half — a blade master.

the story of all

about 2 years ago i decided to buy a new in particular i wanted something and nice to drive for some trips, but nothing too big and unweildy for the roads. this meant my were the mazda 3, subaru or toyota blade.

i checked out the first, soon discovered it wouldn’t work. i’m which i don’t think is all tall, but with the seat in a driving position, the rear was reduced to about 2-3 cm rendering seat useless, and the slope of the took it too close to my head. it making contact but it was annoying and i confined.

next the subaru. very engineering i must say, before driving i was impressed by the car in its setup, but for the price it was very very standard interior it feel more like a cheap car than a decent

that left the toyota either the standard 2.4L or the master which had many upgrades. of course i was keen to get a but gz the price#33; on paper it didn’t too bad but with tax (not included in price in japan) and just a satnav i was looking at about i took a drive in the standard and it was really good. good smooth too thanks to the CVT. the thing that stopped my up for one then and there was the feeling i might not be able to forget it was the 2nd best. after thinking it for a week or so, i jumped on the internet for some reviews to compare the blade to the master, hoping i convince myself that the model was a good car in itself, and i to come across a used car there were about 30 for sale, and only 1 master to a salesman i asked later, in japan the master isn’t since it’s kind of a market). as it happened the one for sale was the i wanted, with a number of options, only 2 years old and for a reasonable price. i called the day to say i’d take it#33;

feelings after a year and a of driving

power: while the balde gave me hmm yeah thing’s got some power. the master is more of a **** thing’s got some power#33;. my complaint is the torque steer. power off the line takes a bit of strength to hold the wheel and it from veering to the right. i think it has anything to do with since i’ve put a new set on and it’s there. anyway it’s quick#33;

handling: being drive and with a 3.5L V6 up i thought it’d lurch a bit but i was surprised to find how stable it is, power, braking or cornering. not a lamborgini of course but it handles well, much better i imagined, and the grip is also good.

interior: it’s very and quality all round. i’ve people equate the blade the american ‘matrix’ but here just miles apart. read reviews of the matrix the plasticky interior but there’s of that here. leather leather front and back and suede (or possibly moleskin? the description is ambiguous, it says but doesn’t what kind or if it’s just imitation) and dash trim. loads of for passengers in the back too, and a taller than me could drive it comfortably.

equipment: it has a screen in the center console for and navigation (none of that 3-inch rubbish the mazda 3 as being ‘enough’), the cruise is radar-assisted so it slows down if the car in front is slower, it has a full of airbags including curtains, seats, volume and track on the wheel, a pre-collision system sets you up to be able to stop in a if it detects you might need to a warning beep too).

other comments:

the media is very intelligent, if you put a cd in it saves it to a disk so you can listen again

the reversing camera is really even parallel parking in tiny spaces i can get in in one turn to it.

there are phone buttons on the which makes me think it has though i haven’t tried it

there’s a secondary vent on top of the that sends air to the back, really quite effective, than i was expecting.

at first i was about there being no mode button for the transmission, but it seem to know what to do. normal driving it changes like a normal car, but put foot down and while the change then is normal, that point it changes more rapidly, making me it might have some of internal switch. up changes are if you put the power down from the too, and while there are on the wheel for shifting, i’ve felt the need to use them.

the start button is a little it’s to the left of the wheel and only start the engine the brake pedal pressed, so you start the car without properly in and sitting down.

the auto-key is useful. as long as it’s on you, in a pocket or bag, the unlock at a touch so no more or searching for the fob.


few things i forgot to add

it sounds a bit a truck when the engine is (maybe that’s common to but it soon changes to a nice power’. also when pushed the engine note is a refined roar.

also was made late in 2007, the end of the previous model, which it has a proper handbrake. the new one has the foot-operated which might not bother people, but the few times i’ve a toyota with that i’ve found it annoying i couldn’t put my left foot i wanted.
