2013 Toyota Avalon 40-MPG Model For Mid-Size

Toyota’s remorseless drive to its largest-by-far share of the global vehicle market continues

The latest vehicle to add a hybrid is the all-new 2013 Toyota the large, luxurious, mid-size drive sedan sold in North America.

The 2013 Avalon Hybrid follows the set by its competitors the Buick LaCrosse and MKZ by offering either a hybrid powertrain and a more powerful V-6 alternative.

The new hybrid Avalon uses a 154-horsepower, 2.5-liter engine tuned to run on the more Atkinson cycle, paired to the generation of Toyota’s Hybrid Drive system.

That hybrid-electric power contains two motor-generators that can add torque to complement the engine recharge the battery pack regenerative braking, and power the car from rest up to speeds of 25 mph light-load conditions for up to 1 mile.
