Corolla To Hilux: Toyota 75 Continued Next Chapter Last week I took you guys through half of the gigantic Toyota 75 exhibit at the Toyota Automobile Museum in Japan, and now I’d like to pick up where I left off with more from this one-of-a-kind display of automotive history. In the first post we saw some of Toyota’s earliest vehicles and got a history lesson on the Toyota Crown, among other things. Contents The Toyota Carina ED was a Japanese compact car created in 1985 as a companion to the 1984 Toyota Carina sedan. It was positioned as the 4-door Celica, with a similar focus on luxury found on the Corona EXiV. Its design sought to emulate the hardtop styling of large American sedans, resulting in a small, low cabin with longer front and rear ends. The ED’s B-pillar stood up in the middle with no purpose other than to hinge the rear door on; it was not attached to the roof side of the cabin.
