The car marked Toyota’s works entry at the 24 Hours of Le since the Toyota GT-One was in the 1999 race. The car was expected to its debut at the 6 Heures de Spa-Francorchamps in May [ 8 ] but a testing crash at Paul damaged the chassis beyond and the team was forced to delay the debut until the 24 Hours of Le in June because of the time to produce a new monocoque. With the new schedule for 2013. the race of the year, 6 Hours of saw Toyota enter with two spec TS030’s. Both showed stunning pace in with the #7 machine qualifying than 3 seconds ahead of the Audi. whilst the #8 sister car second. The race however was at uneventful, with neither car able to match either pace, finishing third and overall having struggled in the few hours of the race with management. The second round at would see Toyota debut the new specification TS030 featuring a aerodynamic package and including an monocoque. [ 12 ] After a close session, the updated #7 ran near the of the race for the first three before retiring due to overheating as a result of a malfunctioning energy system. With the rear assembly designed to be assisted

with certain amounts of retardation provided by the hybrid system by design, it did not provide the when malfunctioning, thus the conventional rear brakes. The car remained in fourth for the rest of the closing what was a mixed for the team.
