Airlift 1000 Airbag

There are several airbag that helped with and other info, but in the process of my install I came across things I’d like to along.

First, If you have a FJ do NOT get the standard Airlift kit listed for the FJ.

I all the airbag posts and found no so after I received the kit and saw how short the were in comparison to the space the bump stop and the lower pad on the axle I called Airlift I measured the gap at rest and they me a different part number to (Summit Racing is close to me and carry a lot of inventory)

Here is one of the other posts on airbags.

The basic non-lifted FJ kit is part no. 60809

The kit recommended for my 3 Stg 2 Lift is Airlift part no.

I cut 3 of the bumstops off, used a kitchen knife and with the jacked up the slices slid out between the coils

Installation was not near as complicated as in the above tagged post. it is because I have the lift, but I did not disassemble anything.

The Airlift state to remove the cap on the airbag and compress the bag until all the air is out, replace the cap. This is not as as it sounded and the resulting flat bag is not as as one may think. A bucket of hot water may have helped me — but I was able to basically slide the bags in between the springs.

Since I have Demello rails I just took my jack at the furthest point and jacked up the FJ till the rear was just coming off the ground.

created plenty of space the spring coils to work the bag the spring cavity.

I fed the hose up the bottom through the hole in the and managed to get it onto the airbag — and installed the little

While some of these were more tedious if the spring was loose, its a lot of disassembly takes a lot of time to get things

I wanted to be able to control the in the bags both independently and allow pressure to flow side to side under articulation situations.

Consequently I ran two up from the rear axle. My was to bring things to the right corner for my controls. It is critical to the lines from the exhaust Here is how I ran them, along the lines to the center

Then up and under the heat

Out from under the heatshield, the right frame rail and up in the grommet into the cab far right corner.

Remove the 115VAC by prying out on the top then lifting it I had added the dual 12VDC back there so you will see extra wiring.
