The 2014 Toyota Tundra’s tweaks may not sway brand-loyal truck buyers…

The 2014 Toyota Tundra#039;s tweaks may not sway brand-loyal truck buyers The Virginian-Pilot April 7, 2014 Although Toyota is now the world’s largest auto manufacturer, such dominance doesn’t mean that it builds the most popular vehicle in the United States. That honor goes to the extraordinarily popular Ford F-150 full-size pickup. In 2013, Ford sold 763,402 of them, 59 percent more than the second most-popular full-size pickup, the Chevrolet Silverado, at 480,414. Next comes the Ram 1500, with 355,673 units sold, followed by the GMC Sierra at 184,389. All of them outsell the Toyota Tundra pickup, which registered 112,732 sales last year. Only the Nissan Titan fared worse, ...

Toyota canada recall on 2007-2010 tundra frames — Page 2

more info I have a letter from Toyota Canada to a co-worker. not sure how to put it on the web site! I will scan the official letter and save it. If anyone could give me guidance on posting it that would be nice as I’m not a computer guru. LOL Below is a copy from another Toyota forum about this problem in Canada. Thanks, SJP 2007-2008 Tundra Corrosion-Resistant Compound (CRC) Campaign I recently got a letter in the mail from Toyota regarding a Customer Satisfaction Campaign Notice for Corrosion-Resistant Compound (CRC) on 2007-2008 Tundras. Here’s the main part of what the letter says: Quote: Toyota has received reports that, on certain 2007 through 2008 model year Tundra ...

Savage on Wheels — 2014 Toyota Tundra CrewMax has size to play with big boys

2014 Toyota Tundra CrewMax has size to play with big boys Click image for enlarge. Toyota needn’t worry about folks pooh-poohing their full-size (and then some) Tundra pickup as not manly enough, or strong enough to take on the Big 3’s big boys. Heck, the tested metallic black Tundra CrewMax Limited 4X4 is nothing if not big. First, it’s U.S.-built in San Antonio, Texas, a state that’s the prototype for big, including attitudes. The new 2014 Tundra appears to be trying to out-RAM the Chrysler Corp,’s massive RAM pickup, and it easily outsizes the popular Chevrolet Silverado I tested a month or so ago. The CrewMax Limited’s engine is Toyota’s 5.7-liter ...

Test Drive: Can You Road Trip a Toyota Tundra? | Complex

Test Drive: Can You Road Trip a Toyota Tundra? 2013 Toyota Tundra CrewMax Power: 310 hp, 327 lb-ft. Engine: 4.6L i-FORCE V8 Fuel Consumption: 16 city/20 highway When I asked my west coast friends about the drive from L.A. to Las Vegas, their responses were not dissimilar to my feelings about the trip I made tens of times from Chicago to St. Louis as a college student. “It’s not a big deal,” they said. “It’s really quick and easy.” I was expecting three hours, maybe a little more. It didn’t take three hours. It took seven. We were headed to Specialty Equipment Market Association, or SEMA, show. I was given the option to fly straight to Vegas, where the aftermarket bonanza ...

2008 Toyota Tundra 4×4 Crewmax SR5 | car review @ Top Speed

2008 Toyota Tundra 4×4 Crewmax SR5 Trucks are fun. Although we’re usually car people, the “in your face” and “get out of my way” attitude that is attached to piloting a tall truck that’s over two and a half tons is sometimes irresistible. Exterior The Truck is big in every way. The previous generation Tundra was a few inches smaller that Dodge, Ford or Chevy, but the 146 in. wheelbase of our latest generation Crewmax truck gives it the Tundra its first ever size advantage. Gallery Toyota Tundra 4×4 Crewmax SR5 Toyota did a good job with the proportions on the Tundra. Because everything is big (doors, grille, lights, etc.), it does not show just how big of a truck this ...

2014 Toyota Tundra — The Third Generation — First Drive — Four Wheeler Magazine

2014 Toyota Tundra — The Third Generation — First Drive A Look at the Latest Pick From Toyota We pushed water until it poured over the hood. We maneuvered down muddy, dimly lit forest trails. We climbed slicker-than-snot hillclimbs. We towed four different trailers. We carved our way up and down paved mountain roads. All of this was done in the brand-spankin’-new, third-generation ’14 Toyota Tundra in and around Farmington, Pennsylvania. The trailer towing was done on an airstrip, the driving on local roads, and the off-roading on the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort off-road course. When we were done with the Tundra, it was a muddy mess both inside and out (sorry, Toyota). Our ...

Review: 2014 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition | Men’s Health

Saddle Up, Cowboys! Toyota’s newly revised 2014 Tundra hits all the right notes. It’s got a crunchy exterior, with a soft, chewy center. It’s tough and manly, but soft and cushy when it needs to be. The exterior, for instance, has a taller, more aggressive grill and a new spoiler on the tailgate give the full-size pickup a hard-core, industrial look. Inside, the hugely spacious interior, standard backup camera, Bluetooth upgrades, and, of course, road-trip worthy seating give the Tundra a downright cozy feel. I tested the 1794 edition, which is named in tribute to the ranch (founded in 1794) on which Toyota’s San Antonio Tundra factory is located. This version plays up San Antonio’s ...

2014 Toyota Tundra — Specifications, Pictures, Prices

2014 Toyota Tundra Still, fuel economy is something of a weak point for the Tundra compared with its domestic competitors. Three engines are available, all of which boast class-competitive output but are relatively thirsty. The entry-level 4.0-liter V6 produces 270 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque while returning 16 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. The six pairs with an antiquated five-speed automatic gearbox and is offered exclusively with rear-wheel-drive. The next rung up the powertrain ladder is a 4.6-liter V8 with 310 horsepower and 327 lb-ft of torque. It’s rated at 15/19 mpg with RWD and 14/18 mpg with optional 4WD. Finally, the top-spec 5.7-liter V8 churns out an ...

EDITOR WES RAYNAL: Somebody in the office quipped that if you want to know how good the new Chevrolet Silverado is, drive the new Toyota Tundra. I don’t think the Tundra is a bad truck per se, but it’s not as good as the Silverado. Mostly that’s down to little refinement details. I’ll get to those in a minute. I like the Toyota’s refresh. It looks bolder and tougher. ...
