Toyota Tarago Review It is a wonderful day when the People Movers are starting to surpass the 200kW barrier! Yes Of course its from Toyota, and yes its the same engine that powers the Toyota Aurion. Firstly, if I may point out, that this new Toyota Tarago 3.5L V6 has more power than a standard Holden VE Commodore and a Ford Falcon. So now that all the Ford and Holden fans have gone, lets continue… So this is obviously the most powerful people mover, but it is also the most fuel-efficient among its six-cylinder rivals. The new 3.5-litre V6 engine in Tarago has 9.8 per cent more power and at least 5.5 per cent better fuel economy than any other six-cylinder people mover on the market. So ...

Toyota Tarago V6 Ultima Review | New Car Reviews | Australia's Unbiased…

Toyota Tarago V6 Ultima Review Too-light steering, expensive for the level of performance The 1980s was the decade of the people-mover. Mitsubishi’s L300 van with some extra seats bolted in was an early favourite as was the Toyota Tarago, that nameplate arriving here in February 1983. But that first Tarago, just like its Mitsubishi rival and other best forgotten devices such as the Nissan Urvan and Holden Shuttle, was nothing more than a thinly disguised commercial vehicle which had no hope of passing the safety standards mandated for passenger vehicles. This world changed in 1990 with the introduction of the new generation, egg-shaped Tarago. It was the proverbial clean-sheet design, sharing ...

Toyota Tarago review

Model Update Sharp styling makes the face lifted Toyota Tarago one of Australia’s desirable people-moving vehicles. Capable of seating seven adults in premium comfort is what the Tarago is all about. Legroom is exceptionally good, and there are plenty of onboard features like the second row sliding back for increased legroom, a centre retractable armrest complete with cupholders, ‘Captains chairs’ on Tarago V6 GLX or Ultima models, heated front seats, a perfectly flat and huge cargo area in V6 models – once rear seats are laid flat, onboard entertainment in the form of a premium audio system – that comes complete with steering wheel controls, USB capability, an iPod function, ...

Road test: Toyota Tarago is the ultimate big family hauler | Sunshine…

Story Tools Related Items The Toyota Tarago Ultima. LET’S face it, getting into a Tarago is hardly an adrenalin rush is it? Not if you’ve just been in a two-door sports car for a week. Especially not then. The last time I found myself in a people-mover of this kind was some eight years ago. We were in Australia for a friend’s wedding and he had hired a Tarago to ferry the overseas contingent around. Underwhelmed is an adjective that comes to mind, underwhelmed and frustrated. With seven people packed into it we could barely get it to move. It strained and whined and was flustered by the sight of an innocuous speed bump. In fact its only saving grace was the respite ...

Toyota Tarago or Kia Carnival?

Toyota Tarago or Kia Carnival?

Toyota Tarago or Kia Carnival? I do much prefer the Kia Carnival, but am aware that you must get a model of 2005 or newer, as the older ones had engine problems (big time!) Just want to throw in a totally different option which you may not have thought of. Have you considered the Hyundai Imax? It’s actually an 8 seater and also has a really decent amount of boot space. Normally with people carriers there’s not much boot space once all the seats are up. once our pushchair was in the Tarago there wasn’t really room for anything else. With the Imax we managed to get all of us, plus five big suitcases, three hand luggage sized suitcases, plus a few other bags and bits and pieces, ...
