OLD PARKED CARS: Toyota Treasure Trove: 1967 Toyota Stout.

Toyota Treasure Trove: 1967 Toyota Stout. 20 comments: Stouts are so awesome. Beautiful condition; love the bright red. Cool interior, and those turn signals on the hood are just too cool. I’ve always thought these looked kinda American, especially from the front, like a late 50s/early 60s Chevy. just when I thought you guys were done with the Toyota goldmine you post another gem. what a specimen, she looks almost brand new. a great piece of Toyota history. I would not be surprised if the owner had a Toyopet crown too. This is my happy looking! Many nice car but this is most nicest you make the picuture. Well make, Tony Ben! Awesome! Guys anyone knows what those buttons are for? ...

Heritage Commercials Magazine — capturing the spirit of vintage days — Including FREE Classic Truck Magazine Home Feature Articles Sushi hauler – Toyota’s Stout little fellow Sushi hauler – Toyota’s Stout little fellow Published: 09:47AM Nov 1st, 2012 By: Keith Harman Japanese light commercials, and pick-ups in particular, are such a familiar sight on British roads these days that it’s hard to remember a time when they weren’t around, though most were only introduced to the UK market in the late 1970s and early 1980s. However, Keith Harman has tracked down a real rarity from the land of the rising sun. The Stout was introduced into the US in 1964. In ...

Project Car Hell, Vintage Japanese Pickup Edition: Datsun 320 or Toyota Stout Shopping for a NEW or used vehicle? Click here to start your search. Last week, a pair of 20-something-year-old Japanese factory hot rods vied for parking space in the fiery furnace of the Hell Garage. Driving a parts-bustingly quick Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 or a bewilderingly science-fictiony Subaru XT6 as a daily driver would be fun, but how will you go pick up the replacement engines and transmissions you’ll be needing on a regular basis with either car? You could load that stuff into a dime-a-dozen Ford F-150 like everyone else, but you wouldn’t even have a Hell Garage if you were that kind of person. ...

New to the fleet: Toyota Stout! | Alfa Romeo Giuliettas

New to the fleet: Toyota Stout! The other night I was examining the fabric of my life and found that, while it seemed on the surface I was spread thin, there was actually an area that could be worked to give a little more bandwidth if you will.  This examination followed closely on the realizations that I needed to not be dicing with modern traffic daily in my Sprint, that hauling greasy Alfa and Glas lumps around in the back of my wife’s 6 month old Jetta was almost as dicey as a panic stop behind a new German car with ABS while in the Sprint, especially should some gear oil find it’s way into the carcinogenic ‘new car smell’ emitting carpets, and, most subtle of all, there was this ...

Car Spotlight>>rkm Toyota Stout Gasser | Speedhunters

Car Spotlightrkm Toyota Stout Gasser Next Chapter Here’s something that should be a nice break from all the drift and tuner Toyotas you have been seeing here lately. There were some amazing cars at the Yokohama Custom Car and Hot Rod Show last December, but one stood out to me more than any other. Actually, it wasn’t even a car, but a gasser style Toyota Stout pickup truck built by a shop in Kyushu called RKM. If you are looking for a good example of the Japanese take on traditional hot rodding, it doesn’t get any better than this. Since vintage drag racing is probably one of the lesser known motorsports among Speedhunters readers, I suppose a quick explanation of what ...

Not Portly – 1967 Toyota Stout 1900 | Rusty But Trusty

Rusty But Trusty Not Portly – 1967 Toyota Stout 1900 You wouldn’t believe it today, looking at Toyota’s vast manufacturing capabilities spread around the planet, but in 1964, they introduced the Stout 1900 pickup and sold a grand total of 4 trucks. This was Toyota’s first effort in the American pickup market, and you can imagine the objections – lack of legroom, lack of power, lack of size. Of course, that was all before anyone knew about the fuel crisis that would show up about 10 years later, when all those things were non-issues compared to fuel consumption. Today’s feature truck is not quite as rare as the 1964 model, but will still give you the feeling of those early days. ...

#1 rxtoy Posted 29 March 2014 — 11:42 AM Don’t really see myself ending up back in NZ and getting it legal in Aussie would pretty much mean undoing all the work that’s been done. That said I don’t need to sell, just getting sick of paying storage costs. Most of you will know my ride, it’s 1 of 2 Stouts that anyone I’ve come in contact with knows about in NZ and the only one with a wellside. It’s sitting on a 90ish 2wd hilux chassis with a completely custom rear half, triangulated 4 link with airbags on bottom bar. The front runs modified LCA’s and custom UCA’s with modified spindles (they have super pivots on top instead of ball joints, ...
