Our Location We recently visited this dealership to purchase a used. Overall Score: My Review Of John Eagle Sport City Toyota Scion : We recently visited this dealership to purchase a used vehicle that we saw advertised on Cars.com. We called beforehand to make sure the vehicle was still there and it was confirmed that they still had the vehicle. Upon arrival (an hour later), the salesman we spoke with over the phone could not be found and after 25 minutes the sales manager told me the vehicle we were interested in had been sent to the auction earlier in the week. I had visited this dealership many years before and had the same experience. They will tell you whatever you want to hear to ...

Toyota Tacoma X-Runner: Sport Truck Thrills! — Auto Trends Magazine

Toyota Tacoma X-Runner: Sport Truck Thrills! November 20, 2013 by Matt Keegan Sport trucks are a breed apart, specialty models that bring a level of performance to the pickup truck line typically not found elsewhere. The Toyota Tacoma X-Runner was a rarity at that — a small truck in a segment with just two players remaining: the Tacoma and the Nissan Frontier. Yes, the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon are returning to production, but not until next year as 2015 models. For now, its just Tacoma v. Frontier. Toyota Tacoma X-Runner Performance The Toyota Tacoma X-Runner is, or I should say was . an attractive, fun and highly capable 4×2 sport truck. It was also my weekly drive recently, ...

Hammer Time: Why Toyota Lost Its Sport | The Truth About Cars

Hammer Time: Why Toyota Lost Its Sport Back in 1992 Toyota was at the forefront of quality engineering. The Lexus nameplate had become the best selling import luxury brand in North America thanks to ES, LS and SC models that were easily among the most over-engineered vehicles of the time. 200k became not only an achievement for most Toyotas, but an expectation as well, and the models of that time were rolling testaments to a culture that prioritized the principles of Kaizen (continuous improvement) and Muda (the minimzation of waste) above all else. Celicas and Camrys; two models that were largely designed for middle to upper middle class customers who had lived through the latest recession. ...

Toyota Sports Cars: The Past, Present, and Future

Toyota Sports Cars: The Past, Present, and Future When you think of Toyota these days, the phrase sports car isn’t necessarily the first thing that comes to mind. But back in the day, Toyota was actually dabbling in sports car technology a lot more than you’d think. Nobody would have mistaken them for Porsche or Ferrari, but it was more prevalent than today. At the behest of their CEO, Akio Toyoda, Toyota has been slowly but surely getting back into the sports car game, as evidenced by the outstanding Scion FR-S and some future cars in Toyota’s pipeline. Here, we’ll give you a brief history of Toyota’s sports cars, as well as a quick look to the future. The Sports ...

Toyota FT-1 Concept Heralds A More Exciting Future (And Maybe A New Sports Car) The suspense is over. After years of hand wringing, diehard fans of Toyota’s defunct but beloved Supra sports car have been given hope of a successor. Their salvation comes in the form of the FT-1 concept car, which Toyota unveiled today at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The Japanese automaker has not said whether a production version of the curvaceous coupe will be built, nor whether it would be called the “Supra” if so. But the FT-1 is groundbreaking nonetheless. It represents the culmination of Toyota’s efforts to infuse excitement into its vehicles, much as the company’s luxury ...

Toyota-BMW sports car to gain all-wheel drive, supercapacitors? — Autoblog

Toyota-BMW sports car to gain all-wheel drive, supercapacitors? Comments Add Sales of salt are skyrocketing following the latest rumor of the planned joint-venture sports car from Toyota and BMW. The whisperings indicate that project will spawn both a replacement for the BMW Z4 and a long-awaited Toyota Supra successor based on the FT-1 Concept shown above. Word is that the new cars will feature front-engine, all-wheel-drive layouts with plug-in hybrid technology. This news would appear to run somewhat counter to earlier reports that BMW and Toyota are teaming for a six-figure hybrid supercar . According to Autocar . the project will benefit from the experience Toyota gained with the TS030. ...

BMW and Toyota Join Forces for EV Tech, New Sports Car | Autopia | WIRED

BMW and Toyota Join Forces for EV Tech, New Sports Car Photo: BMW AG BMW chairman Norbert Reithofer and Toyota president Akio Toyoda took to the stage today in the German automaker’s hometown to announce a strategic partnership between the two car companies, with plans to jointly develop fuel cell technology, electric vehicle architectures and an all-new sports car. To the casual observer, this may come across as one of the most unlikely automotive tie-ups in years, but scratch beneath the surface and the BMW/Toyota alliance makes more sense than you’d think. This past March, the initial seed was planted, with BMW agreeing to supply 1.6- and 2.0-liter diesel engines for Toyota’s ...
